Another good one.

You know, I don't see any earth moving equipment in any of these pictures. I would have wanted to keep that high and dry, too, because they will need it after the flood, if only because the feds will force them to tear down their unauthorized dams.

I think the real mistake was leaving that gateway in the lower left corner. ;^)

Thanks very much for the posting.

The photos at the link are Getty Images which can’t be posted here.

It’s interesting to note, that several of the home owners paid good money to try to save their homes: $100 an hour to the workers.

Beats waiting for the government to pay claims. Very proud of the good folks in our state.

Did these people file an Environmental Impact Assessment before they built these dams, levees and dikes? If not, they are in serious trouble with the EPA.

They have altered their environs and most likely have caused irreparable damage to the ecosystem, probably killing the very last of the endangered three-eyed freshwater gobi.

Come to think of it, did the Army Corpse of Engineers file an assessment of what the effects will be on the ecosystem by flooding some 3 million acres of floodplain and farm land?

Pretty tough to get that done with a couples days notice.

Oh, they've known what was coming their way for a couple of weeks. They knew, when the floods began up in the northern stretches of the Mississippi, that it would only be a matter of time before it hit them. It will be much easier to spread that dirt and sand back around than it would be to clean the mud out of their house after a flood.

Dittos! The media really doesn’t know how to even cover the story now! There are no folks screaming about the ‘injustice’...no folks waiting for a government handout..no folks cursing God...nothing. Just folks doing what has to be done..protecting their families and property as best they can and leaving the rest in God’s hands. The media almost seems disappointed....lol!!

Wow! I can’t tell you how proud I am of my home folks!

I’m not surprised, though.

My home folks are a tough, resilient, independent bunch of people.

Thank you both for directing me to this link.

actually just to be fair...goofy freedom rider libs here like McGraw and Hill were very involved in helping Nashville flood victims

if they gave 100,000,000 they would be broke and then some...I would estimate they are worth 50 million together tops and 15 million of that is their hilltop estate in Belle Meade
