Funny, the closing paragraph from the article you link goes as follows: [emphasis mine]
Coburn has done a great job in the Senate and is a serious, responsible conservative. I’d like to see him fight for a cuts-alone budget for a while, which is what I thought he was doing by quitting the Gang of Six. If Coburn couldn’t get them to go along with him on this level of compromise, then what the heck are they going to propose?
Do you treat Mr. Morrissey in the same offensive way that you do your fellow FReepers?

You are making my point.
I want Coburn to fight for cuts only as well.
Maybe you think it's conservative for Coburn to tell town halls that "FOX News is biased" & "They need to listen to mainstream outlets like the Washington Post & New York Post."
I don't think it's conservative for Coburn to come & talk down to people and tell them they are stupid or that "Pelosi is a great person" or that they may be bigots.

No. I don't think it's good to mock conservatives.
But I guess it's OK for Coburn for mock conservatives for watching FOX News.

Also, pointing out that increasing taxes isn't conservative shouldn't be a shock.
I don't see what is so controversial about that.

We need a flat tax. Let’s say 20% for everyone. And yes, the poor have to pay their share. We cannot exempt them from taxes.
