I’ve always wondred why anyone who claims to be a child of God wants to be “raptured” anyway.

I understand. Perhaps you have an ill opinion of Bible prophesy yourself. Many FReepers do.

Don't get stuck on the convenient, overused term "rapture," only understand the scripturally revealed concept. I admit that evangelicals have a knack for overusing convenient terms until they lose all meaning, but you shouldn't discard the baby with the bathwater.
