It seems that the Vietnam War was supposed to be a limited engagement. Is that true or not? If so, then beware!!!

You are the only two people I noticed who mentioned Vietnam, which surprises me. Can you imagine if LBJ or Nixon had said, "U.S. participation has consisted of: (1) non-kinetic support to the SVA-led operation, including intelligence, logistical support, and search and rescue assistance; (2) aircraft that have assisted in the suppression and destruction of air defenses in support of the no-fly zone; and (3) against a limited set of clearly defined targets in support of the SVA-led efforts . . . intermittent and principally an effort to support to support the ongoing SVA-led mission and no fly zone.”

With only vary small changes (Vietnam was non-NATO) and didn't use UAVs), Libya is a close parallel to the far left's least favorite government action, yet they are very cautious in criticizing the anit-American communist who initiated this third war.
