I’ve been in Florida from Minnsota only since 2007 and I’m not up on much of the insurance games.

Just make sure you have replacement cost coverage. Without it, they drastically reduce what they pay out. All the other things, (hurricane coverage, separate deductible, etc) are now standard practice but it would be wise to have your agent explain it all to you. Also, State Farm is offering a bigger discount if they can have your property inspected (they sent me a letter telling me about it but I canceled my policy because I sold the property).
