RAMALLAH, West Bank — Senior Palestinian officials say that negotiations with Israel have become pointless after Israel's prime minister rejected President Barack Obama's call to base Mideast border talks on the pre-1967 war lines.

...A bid to become a U.N. member requires approval not just from the General Assembly, where the Palestinians might win the needed majority, but also from the U.N. Security Council, where the U.S. might veto such a step.

Shaath noted that Obama didn't threaten a veto.

"We plan to eliminate the state of Israel and establish a purely Palestinian state. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion. We Palestinians will take over everything, including all of Jerusalem." — Yassir Arafat

I hope that the a$$es declare. And how are they going to remove 450,000 Jews from their homes? There is not a power on earth that can do that because the G-d of Abraham, Issac and Jacob will not let them..obama is just dust in the wind.

“Shaath noted that Obama didn’t threaten a veto.

“We still hope that he will not do so, and that he will not stand in our way to freedom and independence, which he called for for all the Arab nations,” Shaath said.”

Ofcourse Zero didn’t. He is in perpetual campaign mode. The line about Palis not seeking UN declaration was for the Leftist Jewish Community. They have to have SOME excuse to keep supporting the Muslim President.

No surprise there....the world has its face set against Israel. And, our counterfeit president will take advantage of that.

Obama cannot fail to veto before the election, period.

they need pushed into the Sea!

They need to be pushed into Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. Forced mass transfer. Then Israel needs to retake the Sinai. Any nation taking issue with this to the point of attacking Israel should then be ERWed (neutron bombed). Problem solved.

As a separate nation, Israel can cut off water and electricity to both Gaza and the West Bank. It can also seal its border tightly with both, so there is no further transit. And it can also empty its prisons of any lesser Palestinian nuisances and deport them.

Jerusalem can very well be fully unified and Jewish owned, and Arabs and Muslims can be expelled from Israel. Israel can tear down all mosques in their nation as well, including the al-Asqa mosque on Temple Mount.

And Israel should be abundantly clear that they can do any of this, if the UN decides to act against Israel unilaterally, as many other nations in the world have done and do similar things without even criticism.

Finally, Israel should institute a policy declaring that hostilities exist between Israel and Gaza and the West Bank, and as such, any attack by them against Israel will be met with an immediate quid pro quo, and with no greater accuracy than the weapons used against Israel. They fire a rocket, Israel responds with an artillery round, with no effort to target, or not to target, the downrange area.

This could be a really bad move for the Palis.

Assuming they declare a state and it is recognized, any violent action by their "citizens" against Israeli's would be an act of war and legally addressable by Israeli military force.

It would allow Israel to go to war and force all other nations to pick sides or remain neutral. The US could not aid the Palis without crossing the line.

Russia and China could prevent an anti Israel captive UN from aiding the Pali aggressors with the Security Council veto, but the US and UN could not prevent Russia, China, and India from aiding Israel the defender.

Certainly Russia, China, and India can benefit by buying from Israel (discounted) captured oil (that formerly went to Europe) from those states stupid enough to ally with the Palis.

None of this can happen if there is no Pali state to act against.

Look for an Obama (US) veto on the Pali state, if Zer0 truly knows how close to disaster he is.

The other veto (or not) to watch is Russia and China, to see how they want this to go. An abstain will speak volumes (if they have to vote before the US votes).

if the UN decides to act against Israel unilaterally

That may not be so easy for the UN (see my post #13), however, that does not include NATO (the current US sponsored Muslim enforcement tool).

It's up in the air, as NATO nations have much to fear in losses in a Mid East war between states.

China had just contracted to receive most Libyan oil formerly sold to Europe, when "coincidentally" Mo Quadaffi came down with his Obama inspired NATO/"Arab Spring" troubles.

If the UN were that stupid, I suspect that there would be a strong push from the people of this country to withhold our 25% funding of the UN.

If the UN were that stupid

Don't take this as a personal whack, but what evidence do you have that the UN has proposed or implemented ANY policy or provision that is NOT outright stupid since their acquiescence on the 9/11 attack?

And when was the last official proposal (like from a united conservative majority of the US House) to defund UN dues for anything?

“I bet anything the US will not veto.”

I think that Obama’s blatant disrespect to Netanyahu was intended to attempt to provoke Israel, so that any actions in response by them can be used to justify not vetoing Palestinian recognition. It’s no different than the deliberate race-baiting and everything else he’s been doing to opponents in his own country.
