I love Texas and enjoyed listening to all the liberal loonies crying in Austin about it!

Three cheers for Texas. Let there be other states with courageous leadership to follow where they are leading.

Way to go TX. I do hope you are the first of many to follow.

For those that may not know, our legislature in TX meets every 2 years—so we will have at least 2 years to enjoy the cuts...unless, of course, governor GoodHair comes up with some outrageous scheme that he can pull off without the legislature................

A real, actual cut? Not a reduction in the rate of increase?
Maybe Perry for President ain’t such a bad idea after all.

Apparently Alaska cut actual spending in 2009/2010 or something I ran across a chart(probably on RedState) that I can't find again that showed Alaska with small but steady spending increases through 2010(?); FWIW.

Okay. I saw someone post that Alaska had done it but I don’t know the details. I think someone even posted it as a reply on that redstate article.

The fact that this was done with DewCrist running the Senate and Straus running the House is amazing.

Thanks deport. It was my understanding that Texas was looking a $27B shortfall in the face, which may or may not have been accurate. If true, $15B wouldn’t cover that so maybe Texas is counting on increased revenues from somewhere???
