Like another FReeper pointed out, it appears the SS appeared to be slow to react.
Hopefully this is a “teachable” moment for them.
I thought they got out of their cars pretty fast, but they seemed unsure of where to go and what to do.
I would think they are a “potentially disabled vehicle” plan, that includes the fact that perhaps something nefarious is afoot when the President’s vehicle suddenly gets “stuck,” especially in a foreign country, while leaving an embassy in a high-profile situation.
The car is supposed to be bomb-proof, so the safest place for the Prez, I would think, is to stay in the vehicle. But . . . well, anyway, sure hope this WASN’T a teachable moment (iow, that the Secret Service already understood this scenario and how to react to it)!
