A DNA sample taken from Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former IMF chief accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid, has been matched to material found on the maid's shirt, sources familiar with the case tell NBC New York.
The 32-year-old Sofitel maid has told police that Strauss-Kahn groped her, locked her in a bedroom and forced her to perform oral sex.
Sources familiar with the case say material on her shirt matched Strauss-Kahn's DNA. Another source says DNA testing on other evidence from the scene is continuing.
Prosecutors on Thursday announced a grand jury indictment; the seven counts include attempted rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment
Defense lawyers have denied the charges and say there is no evidence of a forced encounter. They did not comment on the latest information about Strauss-Kahn's DNA.

What’s amazing to me is this guy’s wife. If the prosecution is right, he’s a monster. If the defense is right, he’s a pig. She has all the money and power in the relationship. The only reason she might possibly have had to put up with this nonsense was that she could have been the First Lady of France. That dream is now gone. Why is she spending all this money and subjecting herself to all this abuse?

I certainly don’t want to judge because all the facts are not known. She is a young woman and he is an old fart. If he didn’t have a knife on my throat or a gun to my head there would have been no way except to break my jaw that he would have made me have oral sex with him. I would have died trying to kill his @ss.
The blood-stained white bed sheets were later taken into evidence by police.
Just a little FYI: if your own "consensual" quickies habitually result in semen spattered over your partner's clothing, and blood-stained bed sheets...
And what of the blood on the carpet? That would be expected if it was consensual, too?
