Ex-IMF Chief's DNA Found on Maid's Shirt: Sources

A DNA sample taken from Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former IMF chief accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid, has been matched to material found on the maid's shirt, sources familiar with the case tell NBC New York.

The 32-year-old Sofitel maid has told police that Strauss-Kahn groped her, locked her in a bedroom and forced her to perform oral sex.

Sources familiar with the case say material on her shirt matched Strauss-Kahn's DNA. Another source says DNA testing on other evidence from the scene is continuing.

Prosecutors on Thursday announced a grand jury indictment; the seven counts include attempted rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment

Defense lawyers have denied the charges and say there is no evidence of a forced encounter. They did not comment on the latest information about Strauss-Kahn's DNA.

This was not consensual. I believe the maid and everyone she was in contact with after the rape.

It seems he planned to rape the maid. What a creepy monster. I hate that he is defended here, even though I do understand that “theoretically” he is still “innocent.” But the circumstantial and other evidence points to a vicious, hateful beast.

Yes, if he had anal sex with her. How much blood was found? Was it caused by a knife or someone’s ass bleeding?

Was she menstrating?

Blood alone doesn’t mean anything.

If she peformed oral on him...why not bite him? Also what time was she in his room? I read somewhere it was like 3am in the morning, but that doesn’t sound right to me...no maid would go in the room at 3am in the morning unless it was for sex. So it couldn’t be right because they did arrest him.

I’m appalled at how many here want to convict someone of rape on just circumstancial evidence.

If this was you being arrested I bet you’d think otherwise.

In the US rape and child molestation all it takes in the allegation and the perp is guilty. We have swung the pendulum too far the other direction. Until you have been on the false side of an allegation you truly won’t understand how stacked the deck is against the accused.

The perp march you with handcuffs, the prosecutor has nearly unlimitted funds to go after you, and it’s 100% he-said/she-said. So it’s soooo easy for someone to claim rape and ruin another’s life. And they can do this without any real punishment.

My fix: Any false claims of rape means the liar gets double what the accused rapest would have received. It’s a lot harder to prove someone is lying so when they do they should have the book thrown at them. What ever happened to the liar in the duke case? Did she get jail time for what she did? She should be serving time for 6 cases of claiming false rape.

This is interesting. It says he likes rough sex...when he paid for it before he was overly agressive and rough.

Could be this woman was up for sex, but when it got rough she no longer liked it and took off running. She was in shock and all that plus she was at risk of losing her job.

If this is what happened? And that’s a big IF...would that be rape? Pretty soon men will just show up with a sex contract for the woman to sign and she can check off everything that is ok for her. I believe I read where some stars are actually doing that today. But then they can always say he forced her to sign it...so then you’d need to go to the bank get it notorized and then go back to the hotel room. Hey maybe the hotel can run the notary service for it’s guest and have contracts ready to go.

I hear you. I would not want anyone convicted of a crime they did not commit. But this was a bloody, violent attack, and FROM WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR (from the sources we happen to have), I definitely believe the maid and the after-the-crime witnesses of her. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing to lead me to think this was a set up.

That’s why I feel as I do about this case. I don’t feel that way about every accusation of rape, not by far.

By the way, the reason a rape accusation will ruin a guy’s life is because rape of an innocent woman is such a HORRIBLE, HEINOUS crime. So you need to at least CONSIDER this man’s potential guilt.

In the hours and days that followed the arrest, a string of friends and Socialist allies stepped forward to defend a man they insisted could not have done such a thing. Jean-François Kahn, a well-known journalist, said he was "practically certain" that what had taken place had not been an attempted rape, but "an imprudence… the skirt-lifting of a domestic". Jack Lang, a former Socialist culture minister, wondered why, when "no man had died", Strauss-Kahn had not been released on bail immediately. Philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy, meanwhile, raged against a legal system that had treated DSK like "any other person". "Everybody," declared the philosopher, "is not everybody!"

Sad how many ostensibly "conservative" FReepers sound exactly like these openly socialist, rapist-defending scumbags, ain't it...?

Must be one of those hyphenates----balkanized separatists who put their hidden agendas over and above everything else.

Hyphenation-separation is NOT the American way of life.

Anything that hyphenates should be declared persona non grata in America.

I *knew* Dominique Strauss-Kahn was GUILTY the moment it was reported he was French.

Maybe I'm prejudiced (nah, not me) but it appears that all French 'elites' think they're still living in the 1700's and can do anything they want to a woman.

(Blush) aw, gee..............

Now let's get serious. It's been proven time and time again these hyphenates are national security risks......all of the hyphenates we've observed have a hidden agenda that undermines US interests........and are harmful to our internal security.

Most Americans would concede that they are not comfortable being around hyphenates.

We need to put this into law----that anything that hyphenates is considered a national security risk----they are persona non grata and should be asked to leave the US.

I concur, all hyphenates should be outlawed and/or barred in the USA.

That goes goes for last name hyphenates like the Frog, (aka: La Grenouille), in question, Dominique Strauss-Kahn. And US politicians like Debbie Wasserman Schultz (even though she drops the hyphen usage). They pick one last name and that's it - period. And if you don't like your future husband's last name, then don't marry him. It's that simple.

And it goes doubly for people who can't make up their mind as to where their national allegiance lays or which heritage comes first: i.e.: African-American, Mexican-American, Italian-American, or even those who say -- Irish-American. You either stop using the Nation part and hyphen, or hit the road Jack. I'm sure your 'home country' or continent will welcome you back with open arms.

This is the United States of America. Not the United States of Hyphenated America.

Furthermore, for those who just say they're 'Jewish' and won't even acknowledge the American part, the next plane for Tel Aviv leaves in an hour, be on it. Attempting to play both the Race and oppressed Religion Card at the same time is against all the rules.

Lastly: ALL Duel, or even Triple Citizenships expire on June 1, 2011, at 4:00 pm EDT. Pick 'American', or GO 'HOME'.

[Okay, I believe I've covered all the bases and stepped on every 'Politically Correct' toe. And to those I forgot to offend by name, consider yourself included.]
