I think the police will be let off. They were going after someone they thought was dangerous, had a warrant, saw a man come out with a gun and shot before (what they thought) he fired. I just don’t see this ending up in criminal charges for sure. Administrative hand clap for sure. A huge lawsuit for sure. Good to have the support for the family at this time. I would imagine they will need it.
They'll be "let off" because they are cops... and we all know cops can do no wrong. But please show me in a legal dictionary or any dictionary for that matter where the legal threshold of "They Thought", is defined as accepted...
They thought is just mere suspicion and gives the police zero ability to do anything accept continue to investigate from a distance to develop more evidence.... it does not justify a full-blown SWAT raid.
