My problem is Salazar getting a pay raise, especially in our current fiscal position. It is simply not justified, other than to keep his real wage constant. But even then, he needs to sacrifice just like workers in the private sector have.

My pay for the past two years has been frozen, no cost of living, matching 401 cut by 50%, paid holidays down to 5, (0 days for a period of time ), all other benefits such as. Christmas bonus gone, longevity pay gone. Not to mention we were already under paid compared to surrounding counties for similar jobs, we were supposed to get raises over a five year period to get us up to par. All gone! The amount of work has gone up. I guess when you work for local government (non union) you should be thankful just to still have a job, least that’s what we’re being told. County spending hasn’t slowed down any! As a matter of fact they spent close to 2,500 dollars for plastic or what ever their made of Christmas figures to stand in front of the administrative offices!

And I also help pay this jerks wages and he wants a $20,000 a year raise? Not no, but, hell no! That shouldn’t even be a bargaining chip.
