Calling these people the Progressive Republican that they are is much more damaging than epithet of RINO. It more effectively shows their political mindset.

I agree. Additionally, the Republican Party isn't what it used to be; the lines between it and the democRAT party have long been blurred. So saying someone is a 'Republican in name only' doesn't have the intended implication as it used to wherein saying someone is a 'progressive Republican does convey the intended disparagement. I like it!
