“Starting this weekend, Sarah Palin will embark on a one-nation tour of historical sites that were key to the formation, survival and growth of the United States of America,” according to a statement from her political action committee. “The tour will originate in Washington, D.C., and proceed north up the East Coast. More information will follow.”

Palin advisers declined to provide details of the itinerary or engage questions about whether Palin’s public appearances were a precursor to a genuine exploration of a presidential campaign. Asked why she was doing the tour, Tim Crawford, the treasurer of Palin’s PAC, said, “Because she wants to see how this nation was built and get fired up about that.”

“...but if she comes out swinging, handles herself decisively and coherently on the issues...”

Golly, the way I see it, she has already passed those three criteria with flying colors.

This is the ONLY candidate that will campaign solely on their OWN TERMS now, and not based on their ‘political’ career.

She will speak from the heart, not what ‘pleases’ the MSM, RINOs, ESTABLISHMENT, or anyone else that only cares about POWER,EGO, and GREED!

The first stop will be at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally. Palin will then travel up the East Coast in a trip that will include her first stop in New Hampshire since running as the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 2008.

Palin will also be stopping at other spots of symbolic national significance on the East Coast, including the Civil War battlefields at Gettysburg and Antietam, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

Palin’s camp intends to post more information on the trip on the recently revamped website for her political action committee. There were few details on the SarahPAC site following the announcement.

“Because she wants to see how this nation was built and get fired up about that - BECAUSE IT’S IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SYSTEMATICALLY DESTROYED BY THE RATS AND THE RINOS AND THE MSM.”

There - fixed if you ya Sarah!

I’d love it if she made stops at some of the lesser known historical sites.

You know the ones, where Americans pass by almost daily without so much as a glance or awareness. That would be much more powerful than just standing at the Liberty Bell (which of course she should and probably will hit up).

Details were still being hammered out on Thursday, but sources indicated to RCP that the bus tour is expected to last several weeks and will be divided into separate geographical stretches for logistical reasons.

Members of Palin’s immediate family are expected to join her on the trip, which will eventually take her through key early-voting states.

Palin will do just that on the first day of her tour on Sunday when she participates in Rolling Thunder — an annual Memorial Day weekend motorcycle rally held in Washington, D.C. Participants at this year’s event will gather outside the Pentagon before parading down Constitution Avenue on their way to the National Mall near the Lincoln Memorial.

Cain's a solid conservative and a sharp man. He's just not the way to bet. America has never elected to the Presidency a businessman with no experience in office before. For that matter, Cain was defeated in a Senate primary before. I think that Palin will be able to out-campaign him. <

She could probably throw her support behind him, but she doesn't need to feint so elaborately to do that. It will simply suck the oxygen out of the room for other conservatives to rally around her, not him.

I think the simplest explanation is the best. Palin looks like she's running because Palin is running.

Waiting for a bunch of *Concerned Trolls* to drift into your thread

I'm concerned that exploding liberal heads could cause sidewalks to become slippery. I hope that our liberal and RINO friends will take the proper precautions to protect all of us.

The lady is a patriot.

That is truly hallowed ground, soaked with the blood of great Americans from the Union and the Confederacy.

I’ll bet Obama has never even heard of those sacred sites of elegiac American history,

Could it be that maybe, just maybe, she IS electable? Hmmm

Palin looks like she's running because Palin is running.

And when she does, the field suddenly transforms into Palin vs. whomever will take take the role of "not Palin" (presumably Romney, possibly Pawlenty). With everyone else running for VP or the offhand chance that the leaders completely implode.

I don't know what to feel here. On the one hand, I want to see her run but on the other hand I'd love to see her act as a lightning rod to show the rest of the country just exactly what is at stake with this election.

My only problem with this idea is that there are very few candidates who I would trust to make the most of her lightning rod status and that's not a good thing. Herman Cain might, Col. West would and I think Tim Pawlentry might but I'm not solid on him yet either.

This election is too vital for us to wind up with another McCain but I'm not sure Palin is right either.
