Searchers had been looking for the missing 3-year-old boy since Tuesday after a violent storm struck his home in a subdivision in Piedmont.

His pregnant mother, Catherine, and siblings, Cathleen, 5, and 15-month-old Cole, were injured.

Ryan's brother, Cole, died at the hospital Wednesday.

Mother Catherine is in fair condition and daughter Cathleen remains in critical condition.

Catherine is five months pregnant, her unborn child is expected to be fine.

Hank Hamil, their father, was out of town during the tornado but has returned to help search for his son, Ryan.

How sad.....I pray that the Good Lord will wrap his arms of comfort around this family and give them strength they so desperately need right now. Those precious angels are in God’s arms as we speak. :(

I heard an 18yr old was sucked right through a sunroof when he drove through a tornado....he was on his way home with family from his high school graduation.

My heart hurts so much for them. May God bring them comfort and may the new child be happy and healthy and help them to recover from this.

Just heard his Dad on FOX, oh gosh I just cried. And this is just repeated over and over. Prayers up for these people and everyone who has been touched by these storms this season. Prayers for the people affected by the flooding as well. It has been a time y’all.

They did kind of an extended piece on him last night on the national news, I think it was NBC but not sure. He seemed like just a wonderful young man, had videos he had made of himself, among which was a list of 50 significant things he had done so far in his life (example: climb Devil’s Tower in WY, scuba dive in Pacific...) one of them was “I kissed a dolphin.” For whatever reason, I really choked up at that one.

“I heard an 18yr old was sucked right through a sunroof when he drove through a tornado...”

Yeah, I’m wondering if he opened the sunroof to take pictures or something.
SO many sad stories.

Poor parents!!!

I can’t begin to imagine the devastating grief and anguish this family must be suffering. I pray that our Heavenly Father will warm their hearts with the knowledge that these children are safely with Him in Heaven, and will give them the strength and comfort to bear this terrible loss.

They assume he died (the one who was pulled out the sun roof of the Humvee). I believe he has not been found yet (as of last night at least).

This is a good example of why some of us get so angry when others make jokes about tornados - or stand outside acting like these storms are no big deal. I’m so sad for this family

This is really bizarre but here is a video of the kid, in the hummer, last year taking about how he almost died in a tornado last year. How weird...

The Hamil family are members of St. Damien of Molokai Church in Edmond, the Latin Mass parish staffed by priests from the Fraternity of St. Peter. I am looking for a link for donations to help them.

Family portrait: Catherine Hamil sought refuge in a bath tub with her three children, Ryan, Cole and Kathleen, in their home in Oklahoma when the tornado struck. Her husband Hank, left, was away.

There are so many lessons to be learned from these tragedies that could and should save lives. We live in central Oklahoma and listened to the weathermen who for two days predicted that violent storms were coming our way and to prepare for them. We have an underground shelter and took cover when the sirens went off. One of the seven tornadoes that struck Oklahoma was making a direct path for our house when it lifted seven miles from us and the wall cloud passed over us. We received tennis ball sized hail but no damage. Prayer really works.
Conventional wisdom says to take cover in the bathroom or an interior closet but an EF-4 or EF-5 tornado will take the house down to the foundation. I hope that more people will consider a contingency plan for tornado season and be prepared to move to more adequate shelter if time allows.
