What I think happens to a large degree is that otherwise smart people get blinded by the excitement of having a local boy trying to strike it big, and they jump on their bandwagon.

I have never been like that. I was against Giuliani from the beginning last time. To me it is a bigger tragedy when one of your own (place of origin) is such a poor example.

Those people who become blinded, should take a good long look in the mirror and resolve themselves to rise above their petty local fascination of a really poor candidate for President.
