Several years ago there were published professional surveys, accepted by most, that the homosexual population stood at 2% - a little more males, and less for women - but an average of 2%. At that time the homosexual community was claiming a figure of 10%.

I suspect the data remains much the same even with the heavy advocacy activity.

Yes, the propaganda tends to exaggerate the proportion of gays — and the public has really been bamboozled by this.

The proportion is more like 2% at best.

Another thing is that the propaganda likes to lump everything together. My personal belief is that there are different kinds of homosexuality, reflecting the different etiologies. Also, Lesbians and male homosexuals can be quite different from each other. They are not just mirror images. For example, Lesbian couples stay together much longer, and make much better parents. Male homosexual pairings only rarely of long duration.

So, when people discuss whether homosexuals should be able to adopt, it is better to let Lesbians adopt than to have a child with no care — but letting male homosexuals adopt is asking for trouble.

Oh, did I just discriminate by “gender”? I guess that I did, because the sexes (so-called “genders”) really are different. An ideologue with a system will never pay attention to plain facts like this.

i estimate that .5% of the population chooses to be gay or lesbian out of convenience... meaning... they do not want to take the time to find a suitable mate... and find it easier to get their bell rung by others who want an easy “fix”

OK, so 25.1% think that same-sex marriage should be valid while 24.1% think it should not be valid.

BUT 23.8% think that gay/lesbian relations should be legal while 26.2% think they should not be legal.

This does not make sense to me. *scratches head*

You do make a good point, I have noticed that somehow lesbian relationships seem, on average, to fare better than male homosexuals, odd, but observable. I suspect that this may be an illustration of inherent gender differences, though.

If gay men are only attracted to men and transgender people are just adopting their inner sexual identity, why do homosexuals pair up with post-op transexuals?

If they want a mate with boobs and a vagina, why don’t they just go for the real thing?

Even 3.5 sounds too high to me.

Again, I think it depends on where you live -- urban, suburban or rural. When I lived in West LA, I'd have sworn the numbers exceeded the 25% number, even back in the 1980's. In Sacramento, I'd guess about a tenth of that. In San Francisco... well it's San Francisco. If you are in a rural location, I don't imagine you are going to be seeing many out of the closet gays, anywhere -- too many easy places to bury a body ;)

Horrible. The propaganda has been very successful. The Guttmacher institute - connected with Planned Parenthood IIRC and not conservative - did a couple of surveys a few years ago and about 1.5 to 2% consider themselves homosexuals. I'll post a few links in a minute.
