I really don’t like this guy (he’s my governor)...

Mine, too. And I'll take a crack at why you don't like him.

Rick Perry is a consummate politician. He will do what he needs to do to get elected. And, otherwise, he's not going to upset any applecarts.

The man doesn't have an ideological bone in his body. He governs conservatively only because Texas is a conservative state. He will avoid controversy like it is a rattlesnake.

All of this makes him a serviceable governor in a conservative state. It would make him a fatally weak leader at a time when we need a president with rock-solid conservative principles that is unafraid of controversy.

Well stated. He has been careful not to make a fool out of himself like Daniels...but he certainly hasn’t bothered to lift a finger to lead (other than selling off our highways to foreigners)...so I DO NOT like him.

Sounds like Congressman Allen West to me!

I tried to say what you said here, but you said it much more concisely and much better. Gov Perry's recovery and his re-election in 2010 is a testament to good political skills. This guy is as good as Bill Clinton as a politician. But for exactly that reason, some of us real conservatives are wary of him.

Bingo! You are right on the money. Perry is a polished political slut.

He is in favor of the Trans-Texas corridor, essentially a superhighway for shipping goods from Mexico to Canada. On the surface, this may look appealing, but the hiccup comes when one realizes that Mexican ports will circumvent our own ports, offloading and trucking up through Mexico.

Not to mention the original TTC would have confiscated thousands of acres of Texans farm and ranch land utilizing eminent domain in order to build this superhighway integrating the Americas.

How bout the Spanish company that was awarded the contract to build the highway.

Oh, did I mention Perry is in favor of the Mexican trucker pilot program...yep! The ground work is in place for Mexican trucks to travel our highways.

Did I mention Perry has done jack diddley squat when it comes to border enforcement. Talks tough, but lethargic response to the out of control border. His main approach...blame the federal government.

Let's see, anyone remember Perry's lil pet project to force young school age girls to be vaccinated with the highly controversial drug Gardisil. Backed down when parents all across the state screamed bloody murder.

How’z bout Perry's promise to do something about sanctuary cities for illegals...then used his cronies to help kill the effort.

What about Perry's declaration that he was NOT interested in running for president, now, newly re-elected...guess what? He's testing the waters.

I dunno, these are just a few examples of why I think Perry's nothing but a slimy politician and part of the globalist establishment.
