Couple's gender secret for baby touches off debate

NEW YORK – Ridiculous or ultra-enlightened? A Toronto couple's decision to keep the gender of their 4-month-old baby a secret has touched off a sometimes nasty debate over how far parents should go in protecting young ones from society's boy-girl biases.

Kathy Witterick and David Stocker recently landed on the front page of the Toronto Star, explaining that they hope their third child, Storm, can remain untouched by the connotations of pink versus blue, male versus female, long enough to make up his or her own mind.

The decision has online haters and supporters of the family on hyperdrive. Child development experts, meanwhile, question the impact on the cherubic infant later in life and whether the couple has gone too far in their quest for gender neutrality.

Unless the parents are the only ones who change this child’s diapers, the gender will “leak” out sooner or later. Which raises the question: Will these “parents” let this child use whichever public restroom (s)he chooses regardless of gender?

Homosexuallity is not a matter of choice. It is genetic.

Really? Have they isolated the "gay gene"?

What of the "ex-gays" that the homos hate so much?

What about the higher rate of homosexuality among those who are sexually abused? How is it that those with the "gay gene" are abused more often that others? (sarc)

What about the higher rate of homosexuality amoung those raised by gay "parents"? How is it that those with the "gay gene" are adopted by gays more often that others? (more sarc)

The belief that homosexuality is of genetic consequence is popular, heralded by the radical homosexual activists for political reasons. Unfortunately, it simply is false. For a quick explanation on what was found in the identical twin registry studies, I recommend the following:

Being homosexual is no different than being born with Down’s Syndrome, Spina Bifida, cleft pallet etc.

In any case, what normal person would choose to be homosexual if he/she were not?

Who would choose to be addicted to drugs or alcohol? Who chooses to be depressed, suffer from anxiety, or have OCD? Who chooses to have an explosive temper? There are lots of behavior that humans engage in that is unhealthy. Homosexuality is no different, and as a matter of fact, when people seek therapy for homosexuality it has the same recidivism rate as other mental illnesses.

If you actually take the time to read what you wrote you’ll see that you agree with me. Homosexuality is a mental illness.
