"Thanks to "globalization", multinational corporations can hire workers for slave labor wages on the other side of the planet and nobody can stop them."

And support communists to boot.

And thanks to unions, it’s now worth it to move everything overseas. Low wages might get companies interested, but the prospect of never ending union extortion will easily convince them to make the massive capital investment starting a new plant in a third world country takes.

Dump unions, fix the overregulation, pass tort reform, deport the illegals, get rid of the unfunded treatment mandate for non-lifethreatening cases that present in the ERs. Do all that, watch prosperity come back.

America is in economic decline. So why is the economy so bad? . . . The economy is a mess right now and things are going to get a whole lot worse.

The reasons things are going to get worse would have been clearer if the author had used this picture of what voters think is a solution. The communist druggie in our White House is not the primary cause of our problems, that would be the parasites who voted for socialism, but he is the guarantee that things will get even worse.

Very simply, the solution to all of this is immediate, across the board import tariffs.

I’d advocate 100%.

Not some central government program of selecting winners and losers - just one uniform 100% tariff on EVERYTHING imported.

Jobs will spring up all over the place, right here in America.

Sure importers like Wal*mart will quickly find their line of “work” less lucrative. Sort of the idea. :)

Tariffs. Now.

Plus we gotta figure out a way to stop taxpayers subsidizing stupid unmarried women from going to the nightclub, spreading their legs and creating future drop-outs, gang-bangers and prison inmates.

The answer is simple.

Uncertainty.

Businesses will not expand with an anti-business mindset in control in local, state and federal government.

Nobody will hire workers and take risks so long as they see this dark cloud hanging over their business decisions.

At the root of this is a denial of the liberty to pursue economic success without government punishing the hard work needed to achieve the success.

America’s economy is, as we lose our manufacturing base, rapidly becoming a shrinking, giant zero-sum game.

Since we have effectively stopped innovating things which are actually made here - America is effectively shrinking.

50 billion or so dollars every month. Shrinking. Every day, we have fewer dollars, fewer jobs and less innovation.

The reason is BUYING IMPORTS. Nothing more.

Our economy sucks more every day, because we are spending America into catastrophe.

Import tariffs, would incent job creation in America - which is the only way we will start to grow again.

Import tariffs, are the only solution.

Eliminate every and all tax on American Business. Businesses worldwide will flock here to get the benefit of tax free operation, production, etc. Eliminate all unions and Americans will be hired right and left. We might not even have sufficient population to support the new business cycle. Then enact a rational immigration policy.

MEMO TO NEXT PRESIDENT: Hire me. I will do it. Just step aside and take the credit.

One of the big reasons for our situation is that we have too much unsupportable debt on the books: government, corporate, and consumer debt.

until this is worked out, it is going to keep everything down.

Socialism/Totalitarianism

Terminate totalitarian regulations/mandates. Reduce federalism and mini-me state federalism by 1/2. 1/2 pay, zero benefits in part-time federal and state legislatures.

Defund ALL socialist collectives foreign/domestic/corporate. The U.S.A. becomes financially solvent and we become very low-taxed prosperous/productive citizens in a country which acts as a beacon for individual liberty.

From, Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850...The Law...

Men naturally rebel against the injustice of which they are victims. Thus, when plunder is organized by law for the profit of those who make the law, all the plundered classes try somehow to enter — by peaceful or revolutionary means — into the making of laws. According to their degree of enlightenment, these plundered classes may propose one of two entirely different purposes when they attempt to attain political power: Either they may wish to stop lawful plunder, or they may wish to share in it.

Woe to the nation when this latter purpose prevails among the mass victims of lawful plunder when they, in turn, seize the power to make laws! Until that happens, the few practice lawful plunder upon the many, a common practice where the right to participate in the making of law is limited to a few persons. But then, participation in the making of law becomes universal. And then, men seek to balance their conflicting interests by universal plunder. Instead of rooting out the injustices found in society, they make these injustices general. As soon as the plundered classes gain political power, they establish a system of reprisals against other classes. They do not abolish legal plunder. (This objective would demand more enlightenment than they possess.) Instead, they emulate their evil predecessors by participating in this legal plunder, even though it is against their own interests.

It is as if it were necessary, before a reign of justice appears, for everyone to suffer a cruel retribution — some for their evilness, and some for their lack of understanding.

It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder.

......are crappy, low paying jobs.......

The jobs that are gone overseas apparently were the uncrappy high paying jobs. Perhaps there is something important there. The jobs actually paid too much. The high paid workers were uncompetitive and lost their jobs to those working at lower rates.

In the case of China as opposed to many other places to which the jobs migrated, it is Chicaps not Chicoms that have made the economic gains by revolutionizing what and how things are done. The China of today is nothing like the old stodgy communist nation of say 40 years ago.

High paying jobs exist where there is a competitive margin. We have such margin and many such jobs but complacency can erode the margin and place those jobs at risk.

It is worthy to note that New England using the power generated by it’s rivers established vast textile industries and took well paying jobs from England. Much later, the high paying jobs were lost to southern states where there was electricity and lower cost work force. Most of those jobs have migrated off shore. The Competition from abroad did them in.

There of course other factors in the total cost equation. California is a case in point where the entire state was regulated to raise business and manufacturing costs to the point where the competitive margin was lost, Detroit suffered the same fate.

Until the anti business climate is abolished, there will be no recovery and in fqct will be continued decline.
