It depends if you think a President should embrace the people or rule the people. I think it is time for a President of the people. Not a President that can not mingle with the people.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out what that accessory is on the back of his bicycle. Then I saw another photo, and what it is, is a sort of gooseneck wagon-tongue for a little bitty "urban animal" trailer that tootles along behind the bicycle.
Perfect Erkel. Un-friggin'-believable. I just cannot get over how loathesome an image he presents -- I hate urban bikers anyway, getting out in traffic and slowing people down, trying to get killed and selfrighteously lay off the blame on others. And here he proclaims himself a Member in Good Standing of that bunch of fell miscreants. What do they call it in San FranCrisco when the deviants all go biking together in a pack and block traffic together?

I know what you mean. We like to go to the coast a couple of times a year. It's aggravating having to share the road with these self-absorbed brats. I don't know how most of them don't end up as hood ornaments on logging trucks and big rigs.

The song belongs firmly in a "tradition" of rabble-rousing Communist ditties "of the people" written by such ilks as Woody Guthrie. There was a group of these musicians, and what they wrote was propaganda set to music. It was something of a cottage agitprop industry in the 30's and 40's.
