For the United States, an Ottoman Empire 2 would not conflict with our national interests. However, it would get Putin and Russia all worked up. Greater Turkey is the Russians traditional enemy. The sick man of Europe was propped up by Western Europe for its last 200 odd years as a counterweight to Czarist Russia. Everybody remembers the Charge of the Light Brigade. Putin had a portrait of Nicholas I placed prominently in the Kremlin, this gives an indication of the Russians thoughts on this matter.
