If it turns out that Jose Guerena was involved in the crime ring under investigation, they are going to look bad. As Sheriff Dupnik has lied before about events in his county I'm sure it will be nothing to him to ensure enough evidence is fabricated against Guerena to prove he was part of a "crime ring".
