An appellate ruling that correction officials have acted with “deliberate indifference” by denying female hormone therapy to a transgendered child rapist is giving new hope to a convicted killer suing for a state-funded sex-change operation.
A lawyer for inmate Michelle Lynne Kosilek filed a plea Thursday in his decade-old case before U.S. District Court Chief Judge Mark L. Wolf, saying a May 20 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals in Boston for inmate Sandy Jo Battista supports Kosilek’s similar claims of cruel and unusual punishment by the Department of Correction.
The ruling states DOC can no longer use inmate safety concerns, such as sexual assault, as an excuse for withholding hormone therapy from Battista, who is anatomically male, but identifies and lives as a woman.
Kosilek, 62, who was born Robert Kosilek, is serving life for the 1990 strangulation of his wife Cheryl Kosilek in Mansfield.

You aren't going to believe this one. Another liberal activist judge makes a totally inappropriate ruling favoring elective surgery for a murderer.
Just imagine explaining it to a 5 year old!
The only surgery that this murderer deserves is from male to dead.

I think I would go with the “ding-dong crazy” explanation. I know that isn’t as open as some would be but it is how I would handle it.

Actually, it happened to us this year. My fifth grade daughter had a substitute... a man dressed as a woman. Needless to say, dinner conversation that evening was quite “lively”.
With all due respect, he is serving hard time for having strangled his wife to death. Give the poor man a butter knife and local anesthetic.
In all seriousness, given the reason he is in prison, his current behavior should not surprise. But neither should he be indulged in this.
Given that this man is in fact a convicted murderer, I would support one kind of drug he be given: it’s called capital punishment by injection.
When will the court force them to release prisoners so that they(the remaining)prisoners can get the medical care they deserve?

I’m okay with removing the offending member from this pervert. As for the rest of the surgery, why bother. This psychopath should be locked up forever, so it doesn’t matter what gender he looks or sounds like.

Unless he is concerned about getting the “treatment” from other inmates, like numerous other pedophiles and rapists get from their fellow inmates. I would guess he wants the women’s prison, but last time I heard women aren’t so nice in prison either.
It’s a he. This person is not spontaneously a woman; there is the need of drugs to make this person seem like one as well, not to mention the prior mutilations. This person doesn’t deserve to be considered a “she” due to the crime of murder which he committed.
