A man who was killed trying to protect his girlfriend and a 16-year-old girl were among six people killed and at least 21 others wounded in separate shootings over the Memorial Day holiday and into the night, officials said.
Two of the non-fatal shootings took place at a South Side beach.
The spate of violence came only a day after the redeployment of 500 police officers from two specialized units to high-crime districts.
The first slaying happened about 7:49 p.m. on the 7600 block of South Eberhart Avenue in the city's Chatham neighborhood, police said.

This is the third article of serious violence at the beaches. I use to think the salt air just increased your appetite. I guess it increases your appetite for violence, too.
This story is the MSM’s way of telling us black violence all over the country on Memorial Day is caused by ‘heat’. Yeah, right.
NONE of this happened. Chicago has strict gun control. According to police, Democrats, bureaucrats, RINOs, and other lying sacks of s..., gun control keeps guns out of the hands of criminals. So this must all be a mistake in reporting. It couldn’t have happened in Chicago.
That may be the problem - a lack of salt air on Chicago beaches.

I’m sure all the guns involved were legally licensed and properly regulated so it must have been the elites and other city officials who were the perpetrators. No one else can carry guns in Chicago. That is the law!/sarc

We’re not supposed to think that these are acts of violence committed by black youth, or ghetto dwellers.
We’re supposed to adhere to the liberal narrative. Liberals decry gun violence without talking about who perpetrates such violence, or for what reasons.
Bill Clinton used to talk about how many “children” were killed by guns every year. Upon further review, we learned that the “children” he talked about were predominantly teenage members of gangs, who were out in the streets doing what gangs do best.
Liberals do this with other issues too. We’re supposed to be sympathetic about AIDS, for example, as if we’re all equally at risk of it. We’re not supposed to talk about who the high risk groups for AIDS are, or how they get the disease. We’re just supposed to decry the spread of AIDS, and then bash Bush or Reagan for not having done enough to fight AIDS.
