Karzaai is looking to the future and attempting to position himself as not under the thumb of the U.S. In the process, Karzai has become a loose cannon and we can not put any trust in him. Sarah Palin is correct. If Karzai is threatening to allow Afghan military to attack NATO (mainly, U.S.) forces, then all bets are off. I really hate to see us give up on Afghanistan but if the Afghan President, supposedly 'our guy', is going to start biting the hand that feeds him, screw it. Afghanistan is soon going to return to being a Taliban stronghold and Karzai will last less than than a week without U.S. support.
