Have you read Schwartzkopf's auto biography? While not actually ripping up Franks, he did not exactly give him a ringing endorsement for his actions during the first Gulf War.

Yes, I’ve read Schwartzkopf’s book and I’ve also read Fred Franks’ book as well. In his account (”Into the Storm”), General Franks refutes the criticism leveled at him for the alleged “slow” pace of executing the left hook.
