....Sources tell NBC New York that Palin's highly secretive Northeast tour -- thought by some to be a leadup to a 2012 presidential campaign announcement -- will head to the Statue of Liberty by private boat early Wednesday morning, and then to Ellis Island.
Ellis Island closed as an immigration port in 1924, and now has a museum that details the tales of the 12 million immigrants who entered there.
Palin said in a blog post on her website Tuesday that she is touring historical sites because "it's so important for Americans to learn about our past so we can clearly see our way forward in challenging times."
The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate announced her "One Nation" bus tour last week, but has closely guarded its itinerary....
