A presidential campaign typically begins at the micro-level in Iowa or New Hampshire, with small town meet-and-greets and well-timed endorsements from elected officials and grassroots leaders.
But nothing Sarah Palin and her team do these days seems typical.
Palins advisers are confident, in fact, that she can avoid entering the race until as late as October of this year, when certain states begin to have filing deadlines for their 2012 primary contests.
Yet while the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee will appear in New Hampshire later this week and has plans to visit Iowa in June, she appears in no hurry to reach out to local officials and political operatives in those key early states that hold such sway over the presidential nominating process.
Well, I figure that politicians in office are really busy and they dont need to be bothered by someone just knocking their door, Palin told CNN and RealClearPolitics in a lengthy interview Tuesday at the New Jersey hotel where she stayed on the third night of her One Nation bus tour.
Palins detractors in the GOP establishment and in the campaigns of her potential rivals claim that such talk signals a politically-fatal lack of discipline or seriousness.

Her political skills were on display Tuesday during a bus tour stop in the central Pennsylvania hamlet of Dillsburg, where Palin breezed into a coffee shop and happily sat down with two locals.
With a common touch that sometimes seems to elude several of her potential rivals for the Republican nomination, Palin got the two men to open up about their personal lives before veering into a conversation about the sluggish economy.

I love the way she has taken Palin Derangement Syndrome in the “media” to a whole new level. The “media” maggots are losing their minds.
LOL
Watch the media back away sometime in the near future...they’ll do so to make their own point...they don’t like how they’re being depicted. But Fox will likely stay with it and CNN.
On another subject, why should this lefty State have first dibs at casting a seal of approval on a GOP candidate. It's about time they were reminded that they are only one of 50 (or 57, or 60 or whatever) and that their lefty ideal does not necessarily reflect the views of the rest of the country.
LOL!!! Well played!
Palins bus tour causes media bickering on Twitter (journalists turn on each other!)
New Hampshire is turning more left than it has been in the past (the invasion of those fleeing Massachussets is a big reason), but I still wouldn’t call it a “lefty State”.
Have they forgotten the title of her book?
when you look at New Hampshire’s neighbors (Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Canada) you guys are really under siege.
I am sure Governor Palin has many faults, but lack of discipline would not be one of them.
They didn’t forget, they never even read it, tasking low level researchers to scan for ‘gotchas’.
Gotta keep laughing as the MSM trips over their own feet, whining, and revealing their ignorance in a grandly comic fashion.
Our Sarah and her family took ever low blow and hit and they are still standing, and standing proud with the unspoken, “That’s all you guys have?”.
She’s dusting them off with effortless ease until she decides to really take it to them. Her history tour might have including read up on Col. John S. Mosby and his raiders, America’s first Spec Ops unit. Sure has them scurrying all over looking for her as they did for Mosby whose expoits in the CW press terrorized the people of DC.
