If Palin uses the old 1992 Clinton campaign mantra, “It’s the economy, stupid,” she would win in a landslide. Especially if she supports a major reform our currently overly-complex income tax system.

The economy is about to fall of a cliff and as James Carville rightly said.

Its the Economy, Stupid.

Bush 41 was at 91% after Gulf War 1, Obama got a bounce by being President while Bin Laden was killed.

Might be a negative if we have a terror event.

Anyway it will be the economy in 2012 and Summer of 2011 ain't looking good.

No matter who the Conservatives send to the WH, he/she will have to reverse a GREAT deal of damage AND govern through the hardest of hard times ahead.

I hope that the Conservative leader will succeed without permanent damage to American Conservatism. THAT fix, along with all the other problems of the nation, will make things much worse.

I wonder if Obama is going to pull a “Carter” and refuse all but one debate with Palin, like 1980.

My memory isn’t the best, but I recall that Carter refused all debates that included Anderson, the 3rd party guy. I think that Reagan wanted Anderson included but Carter was having none of it.

The reason I remember their one & only one on one debate is it was held in my beloved Cleveland.

“Are you better off now, than you were four years ago?”

And the rest, my FRiends...is history. :)

Something that needs our attention also is that if the GOP wins the White House, the new President is gonna need Congressional help to turn things around.

That means we need to vote conservative in the Primaries, and back those candidates up in the General Election.

If the GOP can increase its majority in the House and get as close to 60 seats as possible in the Senate, it will make the new President’s job that much easier, and enable them to turn things around that much quicker.

Yes, there would be a hue and cry from the Left and the media that is face-down in their lap, but we need to double-down with our values at the ballot box if we are going to reclaim this nation............

What say ya’ll?

Maybe some focus on the fact that the next President will likely “set” the direction of the Supreme Court for many years to come is called for.

I’ve no crystal ball, no idea if Palin can beat 0bama or not. But if she can’t, for sure nobody else can, and I’d rather lose with her than with anybody else.
