If Bachmann or Cain turn Mormon I guess I could live with it.

(1) Romney's religious beliefs are the least of his problems; his potical beliefs (and record) is the problem.

(2) This could be an intentional tactic by Romney. By focusing on his religion, it prevents people from focusing on his record.

For $5, these two pretenders would wear skirts and call themselves Betty for a day.

They are not serious Mormons, and they are not remotely conservative.

1. Mitt signed the Massachusetts HELLTH care bill.
He can never get away from that travesty, IMO.

2. Huntsman allowed himself to be sidetracked by NObama & sent to China as Ambassador.
Stupid is as Stupid does.
Not showing any strength of character, IMO.

For me, it is not an issue of being Mormon.

It is much more an issue of trying to re-invent themselves on a week-to week basis.

I will not vote for any candidate who has slippery positions on any topic. Show me some backbone. Show me you have something that is in your charachter that cannot be wrangled all over the place.

Neither one of these 2 can do that.

Mormon Schmorman. Don't give a rats a** about his 'religion'.

But America is not ready for ...

an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!! … Jim Thompson

actually I think this is more about increasing the visibility of Huntsman. tie huntsman to romney, like drafting, and then when the GOP rino leadership reaches a curve they will pass/dump romney for rino huntsman.

The reason you don’t give a RA about Mormon is because you do NOT understand the ideology of it...........and so you show you are ignorant

Why are the Mormon candidates running for president moderate/leftists?

Must make Catholics feel better about being saddled with the Kennedys.

Why not a Mormon president? After all, we have been pretty close to that for two years. Since January 20, 2009 we have had a MORON president. He would only be adding on letter to what we have now.

If America can elect a pro-terrorist mooslim to the Whitehouse, I think America can elect someone from the Mormon faith. At least the Mormon church doesn’t call for death to America, Americans, Israel and Jews.

“...grassroots conservatives should find commonalities with an LDS candidate. The story of persecution would play well among a Christian minority who feel similarly neglected, or oppressed, by the modern liberal state.”

Uh, “Vote for me, I’m a VICTIM”.

This is purely, unadulterated drivel.

So, is the point here that is Romney doesn’t win the nomination, it is because Republican primary voters are bigots?

**Romney and Huntsman could exploit the Church of Latter-Day Saints’ history of terrible persecution. Joseph Smith and his army of wives were driven from state to state**

???????

We don’t know that Huntsman is still a Mormon. He’s even squishy on that topic.

The actions of Harry Reid in the past two years are a harbinger of the kind of power that a mormon theocracy would bring. It wouldn't be any better than what Zero is doing now in destroying freedom in this country.

Living the Principles of the Law of Consecration-by President Marion G. Romney

“If thou lovest me thou shalt serve the and keep all my commandments.“And behold, thou wilt remember the poor, and consecrate of thy properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them, with a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken.

“And inasmuch as ye impart of your substance unto the poor, ye will do it unto me; and they shall be laid before the bishop of my church and his counselors, two of the elders, or high priests; such as he shall appoint or has appointed and set apart for that purpose.“And it shall come to pass, that after they are laid before the bishop of my church, and after that he has received these testimonies concerning the consecration of the properties of my church, that they cannot be taken from the church, agreeable to my commandments, every man shall be made accountable unto me, a steward over his own property, or that which he has received by consecration, as much as is sufficient for himself and family.” (D&C 42:29–32)

More food for thought here: ■

■ “Some members of the Church have an erroneous idea that when the millennium comes all of the people are going to be swept off the earth except righteous members of the Church. That is not so. There will be millions of people, Catholics, Protestants, agnostics, Mohammedans, people of all classes, and of all beliefs, still permitted to remain upon the face of the earth, but they will be those who have lived clean lives, those who have been free from wickedness and corruption. All who belong, by virtue of their good lives, to the terrestrial order, as well as those who have kept the celestial law, will remain upon the face of the earth during the millennium.

“Eventually, however, the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters do the sea. But there will be need for the preaching of the gospel, after the millennium is brought in, until all men are either converted or pass away” (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:86–87).
