Palin's East Coast swing ends
By NBC's Shawna Thomas and Alex Moe
PORTSMOUTH, NH -- It isn't over, but it’s over for now.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made one last unconventional stop on her way to the airport this morning to fly home to Alaska. Her caravan of SUVs and reporters' cars stopped at the Golden Egg, a diner here that is used to candidates dropping by, but not completely unexpectedly. (One waitress said they would’ve had all their regulars waiting if they had known she was coming.)
But there was one person who knew Palin was showing up here: rookie New Hampshire GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte, whom Palin endorsed last year.
Ayotte, the senator's husband, and Palin chit-chatted about their children and Alaska travels over coffee as Palin’s parents sat at a table nearby and ate breakfast. Piper was also in tow, eating a sticky bun.
When their chat turned to politics, they lowered their voices, so the microphone only picked up snippets like “55," “the longer we put it off," "Paul Ryan," and "Medicare." The political tone of the stops in New Hampshire -- coupled with this morning’s breakfast and last night’s clambake of who’s who in conservative New Hampshire -- keeps everybody interested in speculating whether or not she will run for president
..snip
When pressed about which part of the country she may visit next she said, “Midwest and then eventually West... I'd love to do South, too. I just heard from [South Carolina Gov.] Nikki Haley the other day, and I'd love for us to hit her state, too. She is great.”

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made one last unconventional stop...Funny, I wasn't aware that a politician making the rounds & stopping in Any Town, USA was unconventional.

Hey, Sarah, don't miss the Hermitage in Nashville, TN, not very far from Lincoln's birthplace and boyhood home in Hodgenville, KY, also the Lincoln Home in Springfield, IL. And "America's hometown" is Hannibal, MO, in Tom Sawyer country.

I hope they leave the RV in capable hands and that it is carefully guarded while they are away from it. I don't underestimate the ability of the deranged left to do malicious (or worse) mischief. God bless the Governor and her beautiful family, especially little Trig.

To: Puppage
Unconventional because the media wasn’t alerted for coverage. It would be unconventional for the media to tell the truth about the Palin’s, so Piper probably had an English muffin. ;)

Too funny. Because of a conversation about a month or so ago with a friend, I’ve been trying to remember off and on since that conversation the name of the town my ancestors/relatives were from in MO, and you just posted it. Hannibal.
Thanks. It’s been driving me nuts. I couldn’t remember it.

That intrigue propelled her to the biggest headline on the front page of the New Hampshire Union Leader this morning, literally shoving Mitt Romneys presidential announcement yesterday aside.
LOL! This is great! :)
Run, Sarah, Run!

God bless the Governor and her beautiful family, especially little Trig. It will be 15 hrs @ least back to Michigan or Ohio, and that is the southern route, not going through customs in NY via the Canadian Route. My guess? The bus is all Stickers they can remove them and move in stealth or have it towed / trailered ( maybe under a tarp ).
I can think of a major family owned bus firm (if it still is) that work like this could be done, but I am not saying where....
So my question is where in the Midwest are their some great Historical sites...
Holland Michigan, Mackinaw Island, or even Shipshawana where they make furniture. But the Biggie IMHO?
Henry Ford Village in Dearborn next to Ford Motor Company.
Hmmm....Great time to meet Allan Mulally CEO of Ford, yes look at my tag-line :-)...

Point Pleasant WV on the Ohio River. Home of the real first battle of the Revolution. Look up “Lord Dunmore’s War”. Also the some of the most beautiful murals on a flood wall in America. Pictoral history of the region. Riverboats in all directions because it is the confluence of the Kanawha and Ohio Rivers. Beautiful River Museum, Early American museum, WV State Farm Museum and (We won’t mention it’s also home to the Mothman and Mothman Museum). WV is also Palin country.

I imagine Ft. Detroit as well.
Tippecanoe would be an interesting stop on the way from Detroit to Chicago (you’d have to assume she can’t resist showing up in Obama’s backyard).
St. Louis is likely a “must do”, not just for the arch, but for its importance in being the staging point for westward expansion.

My guess is Lincoln’s birthplace or home in Kentucky, Reagan’s birthplace in Illinois, some place in Ohio like having to do with the Wright Brothers and perhaps the birthplace of the Republican Party in Ripon, Wisconsin.
