Even though unemployment rose to 9.1% for the month of May, the White House wants you to believe this is good news. According to Obama economic advisor Austan Goolsbee, the country’s job situation is actually getting better.
Today’s employment report shows that private sector payrolls increased by 83,000 [54,000 net] in May and the unemployment rate ticked up to 9.1 percent.
There are always bumps on the road to recovery, but the overall trajectory of the economy has improved dramatically over the past two years.
The monthly employment and unemployment numbers are volatile and employment estimates are subject to substantial revision. Therefore, as the Administration always stresses, it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report.

It would have been much worse if Bush was still president~!
After all it was almost 6% under Bush. He did something on purpose to make it go to 11 percent. But Nice wonderful Obama (PBUH) kept it to around 9%. Except when it was almost 10%.
I know he promised it would never go past 8% if we let him spend $trillions of “stimulus” but Bush was so evil he made it go past that even AFTER HE WAS PRESIDENT~! How evil is THAT~!!??!?!?!?
So it is STILL Bush’s fault, he’s so evil. Wasn’t Bush so evil?

And isn’t it interesting how, since the last Birth-Death model adjustment was made in January (by which the BLS essentially admitted that 300K jobs previously assumed to have been created were in fact, illusory), the adjustment has been positive for each succeeding month of 2011?

Ms. Pelosi thinks unemployment (unemployment compensation) stimulates the economy. Following that reasoning, it wouldn't surprise me that in the month(s) before the election, the unemployment rate will drop drastically because the Obama regime will classify anyone receiving unemployment compensation as being "employed".
Is this far reaching thinking? No, because it involves the same bunch of Socialists that with a straight face and no shame claimed that serious inflation didn't exist and proved it by eliminating gasoline and food prices from the basket of goods used to calculate the numbers.
Remember when they talked about Bush being “out of touch”?
No matter what the nightly news is claiming, someone sitting at home without a job whose friends are also unemployed is not going to buy this. Someone working at a marginal job because at least it’s a job is not going to buy this. Thanks to socialism, that’s a huge number of dissatisfied voters, and they will all blame Obama, all the more so because he’s so detached from it all, enjoying his golf outings while they are taking home less per week than it costs to play one round.
