Matt was my idol as a kid. His cool demeanor, his right vs wrong message, the way he treated Miss Kitty, Doc and Festus. . A great role model. Saw a few Gunsmoke reruns last month. Nothing like it on today's TV. I honestly feel sorry for the kids of today. . . We loved ya' Matt! Rest in Peace!

Art, this might make you feel better; it did for me... there are quite a number of Gunsmoke fans - some who are clearly young people - commenting on episodes of Gunsmoke on the “Gunsmoke Channel” over at YouTube. They seem to really enjoy the shows.
