Sarah was correct. The British captured Revere between Lexington and Concord. He warned them of a huge militia waiting for him in Concord. He was bluffing. They didn’t believe him. But when church bells started ringing and shots were heard the British then believed him, decided he was legit, and released him in thanks for the warning.
