4 dead, 12 wounded in overnight shootings

Four people are dead and at least 12 others were wounded in overnight shooting incidents in Chicago, police said.
The first death was a little before 1 a.m. in the Gresham neighborhood. Three men were shot -- one fatally -- in the 8400 block of South Seeley Avenue, police said, as an attacker approached the three and fired shots with a assault rifle.
Lionel Rattler, 35, was pronounced dead at 1:58 a.m. at Christ, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. One man was shot in his back and fell and hit his head, police said. Another man suffered gunshot wounds to his legs. They were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
