A grieving Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol approached a podium outside his department's office in Oriskany Tuesday morning, flanked by fellow law enforcement and county officials, delivering the grim news that one of his deputies had been shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute Monday night.

This is a tough one. A domestic dispute, and his wife is presently at a local hospital in labor.

It sounds like the shooter was alone in the house and the police thought he might harm himself so they attempted entry. This is one of those case where if the shooter wants to harm himself, let him.

Feel free to review my posts. I’ve pinged the ‘death to cops’ crowd in other threads.

At your invitation, I reviewed three pages of posts. I only saw repeated postings of "I'll bet this has the Donutwatch crowd doing the happy dance".

Hmmmm... "You bet", huh? Seems you can't find them, either.

"Donutwatch" seems to be much less about happiness over the killing or wounding of a cop than it is about outrage at abuse of citizens by cops.

Demanding that law enforcement be held accountable for abuse of the public under color of authority is much different than wishing "death to cops.

I'm not saying it has NEVER happened, but I'm pretty sure the mods would have seen to it that the offender wasn't around for a repeat performance.
