If she spent her own money, then it’s no ones business but hers what she pays for a dress. I personally think it’s incredibly stupid to shell out $7,000 for a gown, but to each his own I guess. However, if this came out of some expense account funded with tax dollars then it’s a ridiculous waste of money.


Well i´m no Obama fan but would you really be more happy if the newsflash says wife of the US president has to buy her cloth at wal mart?

I agree. There’s so much to fault Obama with, this is kinda small potatoes. I think there’s nothing wrong with the President and First Lady (any of them) making as fine a presentation as they can at events like this. They’re representing the United States, and they don’t need to wear bargain clothes.

It’s not like the gowns cost anything, anyway. They’re loaned by the designer for the publicity.
