Austan Goolsbee Escapes Economic Failure (Abandon Ship!!)
Investors Business Daily ^ | 06/08/2011

Great Recession: Austan Goolsbee is only the latest prominent White House economist to pull the ejection lever and parachute to safety. But like the others, his reputation has already crashed and burned.

Last September, Goolsbee, the Council of Economic Advisers chairman who resigned this week, got a question from ABC News:

If the Obama administration spent yet another $50 billion on infrastructure - on top of the $800 billion that had been spent already - plus targeted business tax credits for R&D, would it bring down unemployment?

Goolsbee's answer: "I don't anticipate it coming down right away."

That, of course, is not what Barack Obama promised when all that spending was being thought up by Goolsbee and his confreres. Some 4 million new jobs were supposed to appear by the end of 2010.

And according to Obama a week and a half before his January 2009 inauguration: "90% of these jobs will be created in the private sector. The remaining 10% are mainly public-sector jobs we save, like the teachers, police officers, firefighters and others who provide vital services in our communities."

At the time, Goolsbee's predecessor at CEA, Christina Romer (who flew the coop last year), issued a now-infamous chart comparing unemployment rates with and without enactment of the stimulus. Without it, unemployment would peak at about 9% in 2010. But with the stimulus, unemployment would not even reach 8% in 2009, it was promised.

Last September, at the National Press Club, it must have been humiliating for Romer to make claims such as: "That the economy remains as troubled as it is despite aggressive action reflects the fact that this has not been a normal recession."

I wonder if this turd saw data that shows things are going to get even worse?

Even Obama is admitting a slowdown (which he never has) and is coming out with a “jobs plan” this week — two years after the “recovery” supposedly started.

Instead of creating 3 million to 4 million jobs, 90% of which were to come from the private sector, the president scolds the private sector, outrageously accusing investors of sitting idly on a trillion dollars in wealth. And unemployment remains above 9%.

--------------------------

The anomaly of the current recession is the anomaly of Zer0's political philosophy and worldview.

Obama never intended to 'deliver.' Obama intended to redistribute wealth and punish successful people.

RE: nObama may resign prior to the end of his term

Unless we see a major scandal, I don’t see how this could happen... a bad economy is no reason to resign (unless of course, we slip into Zimbabwe like inflation, in which case, not only the USA will be in the dumpsters but the rest of the world as well ).

Can’t say exactly what Austin Powers Ghoulsbee saw, wouldn’t be right, the vision thing and all that but it is fairly certain that he didn’t see any sign of improvement in the near future.

I now humbly request that anyone who feels able to do so please offer one single reason to believe that Christmas will be better this year than last.

Christmas will be declared a success because Americans will buy a lot of things made in China.

Obama will NEVER resign. He loves his golf games and vacations too much. Plus in his own distorted mind he really believes he is doing a great job-it’s everyone elses fault, not his.

Look for him issuing a bunch of executive orders after the election.

Per Romer:
“That the economy remains as troubled as it is despite aggressive action reflects the fact that this has not been a normal recession.”

In other words, the recession acted stupidly.

Yep, Mooshel, aka the Wookie, will never let him give up his power and post-presidency prestige with all of the SS protection, book deals, and speeches. It is the only thing he does well - talk.

The braintrust from the ivy-covered towers tried every idea kicked around at teach-ins and failed. What does Obama do now? If he brings in competent advisors his base will go ape.

There was lotsa happy talk at a recent DNC conclave of his supporters about why Ohaha "deserves" to be reelected, and, why it is important for the DNC to make that happen............

(Sniffle) That's so true.

Heck, what's not to like? High unemployment, High food prices, High gas prices, High utility costs, Record home foreclosures, Bank closings, Investment losses, Stock market losses, Obamacare, A world-class culture in decline, overrun with terrorists and illegals, Trillions of US dollars guzzled by Mideast hellholes.... China dumping US Treasuries, $14 Billion loss on auto bailouts AND billions more in foreign aid to countries holding US Treasury notes.......as Americans lose their homes and nest eggs.

I guess the DNC will create a campaign based on Ohaha's "financial genius." And besides, Obama needs another four years so Michelle can gallivant around the globe in designer fashions, stay at luxe hotels, and eat lobster (sniffle).

THIS JUST IN News Reports Say Job Market Far Worse Than It Appears; raw numbers are downright scary.

Oh, happy day, now the DNC has a-n-o-t-h-e-r good reason to reelect Ohaha.

=========================================

Obama’s approval ratings appear to have steadily risen the past two months (course they only polled Dems). Getting rid of putrid Rahm, stashing the execrable Gibbs and Axelrod out of sight (behind the scenes in the reelection effort) was a good thing for Ohaha. And Pelosi out of the way, no longer praising Ohaha, and his healthcare plan, is also working well.

But look closely, voters.... as 2012 looms, Ohaha's looking less human by the minute---more like a vote-crazed, wild-eyed robot, mouthing sound bites.

SEE THE SYNCHRONIZED CANDIDATE Stay tuned. From hereonin everything he says will sound like a focus group sound-bite......with pre-programmed voice inflections, and synchronized hand and head gestures.
