Yes, he fought the teacher's union in his state, but that's because New Jersey was dead broke, and could not afford to pay what the teacher's union wanted. It was an easy call for him.

You might be right about the bulk of Christie's politics, but taking on the state teacher's unions is manifestly NOT and "easy call". Taking on a political force like them is not to be done lightly.

Here in Pennsylvania Tom Ridge made similar noises during his first election campaign. The teachers let him know he had a choice... a 2nd term as governor or a single tumultuous term. He chose the easy way out. I'm just glad GWB didn't pick that idiot to be his running-mate.

Christie had nowhere else to go in the budget debacle with the teacher's union. The money simply wasn't there. To his credit, he had the cojones to stand up and tell them that the piggy bank was empty.

The point of my previous post was that Ann Coulter is showing an abysmal lack of judgement by mentioning Christie as possible contender for the conservative vote. She'd do just as well to choose Michael Bloomberg.

In the same breath, she says that "Romney isn't a disaster", and advises Sarah Palin not to run! What sort of conservative patriot talks like that?

I don't know what's wrong with Ann, but I don't want any part of it.
