Major differences between the two.

Nobody ever accused Margaret of being stunningly attractive.

Also nobody EVER succeeded in making her look stupid or unprepared in an interview. Anybody who tried promptly got his head and balls removed and handed to him.

I really wish Sarah was more like Margaret in the second area.

I am sorry but you don’t know your history. Mrs Thatcher (as she was then) was derided as minister of education in Ted Heath’s government; “Thatcher the milk snatcher” she was called by the liberal media and the opposition. She later wrot that she learnt an important lesson: “I had incurred the maximum of political odium for the minimum of political benefit.”

There were other times when she wasn’t pitch perfect in interviews; no one is born an expert. Later on, however, when she had developed into a world leader no journalist ever came close to best her.

I guess she's more like Reagan in that area.

I agree, Palin is no Thatcher. It might be impossible to find someone comparable to Thatcher who is interested in running for President.

I don’t know how anyone can compare the two. Margaret Thatcher would never have said “golly gee” or “you betcha”, nor would she be stumped by a question from the dimwit Katie Couric, nor would she have lowered herself to respond to snarky remarks - especially not with juvenile comebacks.

Margaret Thatcher is a sophisticated, dignified, tough lady. SP is a lightweight, and I fail to see why people are so enthralled with her. If she can’t even answer a simple question about who her favorite founding father was, how is she going to survive on the campaign trail?
