Guns From U.S. Probe Surface in Mexico
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 06/09/2011 | Evan Perez

Posted on 06/09/2011 6:56:01 AM PDT by TonyInOhio

An arsenal found in Mexico included at least five assault rifles that U.S. authorities trace to a federal operation gone badly awry, according to government documents.

The discovery appears to confirm for the first time fears cited by Republican lawmakers that a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives operation called Fast and Furious failed to stop guns from ending up with drug gangs in Mexico.

U.S. authorities have identified at least five Romanian-made AK-47-style rifles as having been purchased in the U.S. by suspects the ATF was tracking in the Fast and Furious operation. Documents from the ATF's National Tracing Center detail the makes and serial numbers of the firearms, their recovery in Mexico, and dates in 2009 and 2010 when the ATF entered them into a database of suspect guns.

Obama’s ATF sets up an operation to sting U.S. gun dealers and instead gets a Border Patrol agent killed.

This act is a clear felony —
violation of the Arms Export Control Act
— and probably an impeachable offense.

‘The discovery appears to confirm for the first time...’

LOL, what!?! For the first time? I think the author has been living in a cave for the last couple months.

“Republican lawmakers that a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives operation called Fast and Furious failed to stop guns from ending up with drug gangs in Mexico”

What?? The ATF was running the guns to them! Used to trust WSJ—just another cog in the government propaganda machine. And what Republicans think otherwise?

Exactly. It will be very interesting to see how the hearings proceed. Ive not decided whether all the activity is leading to a cover up or something substantial. At any rate this episode is a diplomatic and legal train wreck. LOL, and Mexico, instead of going after Barry and his boys are going to sue gun makers. Whatever.

The other, and more pressing issue, is the military aid (weapons) which went to governments in the area that wound up in cartel hands. Congress needs to carefully review who’s getting arms and reselling them.

I’m pretty sure that all Issa has accomplished was to warn the DOJ and the BATFE to shred their docs, delete the emails and backups, and set up their fall guys.
Nothing will happen. Nothing will change.
If he REALLY wanted to work this, he would have sent Federal Marshals with warrants to seize all the computers and documents the very first time the DOJ missed a subpoena deadline.

A similar story was on the Fox News earlier today, but now has dissapeared?

Wonder why they pulled it from their front page.

NRA to Call for Holder’s Resignation Over ‘Project Gunrunner’ Allegations

By William Lajeunesse

Published April 29, 2011 | FoxNews.com

Having deflected questions so far regarding how much he knew about a federal project suspected of allowing guns sold in the U.S. to be illegally smuggled to Mexico, Attorney General Eric Holder is under fire again, this time from the National Rifle Association, a conservative group with a loud voice and influence in Washington.

This looks like it came right out of the Weatherman playbook. Zero is exporting violence and revolution everywhere except here.

Let’s see; Tunisia, Egypt, Bombing Libya, Mexico, Syria, and Yemen. If I forgot anything, let me know.

Just on the FOX broadcast that Mexico is “furious” with the U.S. and charged that over 150 Mexicans have been killed with these Fast and Furious guns. The broadcast says thousands of guns were allowed to walk into Mexico by the project.

This whole thing just peeves the crap outta me.

They were blaming law abiding gun store owners for the hardware ending up in Mexico....all the while, it was Uncle Sugar!

Outta control federals.
