A U.N. resolution justifies the targeting of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, a senior NATO military official with operational knowledge of the Libya mission told CNN Thursday.
NATO has been ramping up pressure on the regime, employing helicopters last weekend for the first time against Gadhafi's military vehicles, equipment and forces. Explosions are heard often in Tripoli, evidence of allied air strikes.
NATO began bombing Libya on March 31, under a U.N. mandate to protect civilians during the fighting between government forces and rebels who have seized most of eastern Libya.

Well, I read the story, but I seem to have missed the part where he explains why Kaddafi is a legitimate target.
“Because I say so”? If this “senior NATO military official with operational knowledge of the Libya mission” is so certain of his argument, why is he unwilling to be quoted by name or nationality?
Protecting civilians by bombing cities? Saving lives by extending the war? None of this makes any sense whatever.
Because ‘’He Won.” Now go sit silently, racist.... (sarcasm)
NATO is US. We are back in the assassination business.
Hillary would tell you that the reason why the US/EU intervened is because they didn't want to further destabilize Egypt (mass flow of refugees, etc.)....i.e. in short, it was a scenario in their opinion where "You're damned if you do or damned if you don't".
So let me get this straight: NATO has gone from a humanitarian mission to an outright assassination mission since obviously they are attempting to end a stalemate via the removal of Qaddafi....? *shakeshead* =.=
