i’ve got to say, none of my children ate very balanced diets when they were toddlers, and they didn’t like vegetables, and I never pushed too hard (remembering the okra incident from my own childhood) but they were never fat.

It’s more a matter of not feeding them constantly, not pushing sugary drinks, not pushing sugary snacks.

Toddlers are too lively to fatten up under most circumstances.

I gather you absorbed the “cost” of staying home with your younglings?

BTW, I appreciate your reply, and agree about the sugary things.

I regret more moms are not staying home with the children during the early ears.

Mrs. Obama might have better argument if she recommended the advantages of weekday maternal care.
