Or either they are some of those that don’t bother paying the bill.

Appeasing the EPA Crocodile so that you are eaten last is not a winning strategy.

Wow, I live in Michigan. We have DTE, but they also have coal fired plants. Ours have been going up, because of the green energy mandate, too!

Raising rates prior to the closing is a winner however.

Y’know, that 35% increase in electricity rates will sure cut down on the benefits of your brand-new Chevy Volt, won’t it!

Those darned unintended consequences again. Although Obama's real desire is to see the end of private car ownership entirely, forcing us all to move to town or the city and ride buses and bicycles.

With only a few “household items” you can make a torch that’s relatively safe* that can last for up to an hour.

It may well be time.

I’ll have tolook for that book.

"Return of the Primitive" is very good. It's a collection of essays illustrating how the left rejects the advances of modern civilization. Rand has a long chapter on the stunting of children's minds in our public education system -- worth the read alone.

On the very day that the American bonds are downgraded it is announced that utility plants in America must be shut down pursuant to Obama's regulations by the EPA which the Congress specifically refused to do directly by any law passed by the people's representatives.

How many new bonds will have to be floated to replace these plants?

AEPs not the only power company that is planning on shutting down coal units to meet these EPA regs. Any coal plant that doesn't have state-of-the-art precipitators is going to be shut down.

The EPA is out-of-control.

“I think we are beyond torches and pitchforks and headed right to the lock and load mode....”

The ruling class knows fully well we will never go beyond the words and even if we did they have their own gestapo to protect them.

We have been neutered by the progressives (and all their various names they have used to hide their true communist goals).

I do not believe in a country of 310+ million we have any founding father material remaining. Any sign of backbone is quickly attacked and the universities coupled with the MSM make sure any allegiance to the brilliant concepts of the founders and the constitution are ridiculed.

How about this, we shut the coal plants and as a saving energy method, we turn off the grid going into DC...burn them out in the summer and freeze those bastards out in the winter sounds like a good plan.

That's right “We” can live in caves and eat nuts and berries. But, what about those who made these laws/regulations? Do you think for a New York minute that they too will live in caves and eat nuts and berries along side us?

If, you do I have some fanastic water front property with a beautiful view of the beach - at low tide.
