That which Mathews despises did the cultural dirty work on this continent so that the urban left can safely assume moral superiority over the and only illegitimate culture in the world-ordinary Christian-oriented Americans.
Even putting aside for a moment the offensive characterization Christian conservatives, this statement is still nonsense.
Weiner's constituency does NOT include significant numbers of Christian conservatives.
Therefore, their disapproval would not be enough to put him in such political trouble.
The reason for Wiener's political troubles has to lie elsewhere then, doesn't it?

I don’t find it acceptable for an elected official to lie to the public. I find it insulting that he dishonors our Country.
I’m not at all convinced that all of what this scumbag has been doing is known. I’m not convinced he is more sorry than disappointed he got caught.
Lastly, Mr. Mathews and all Dems should stand behind Weiner. They’ve stood behind Rangel, Clinton, and others. They are a party of no character and even less morals. Screw ‘em.
