“...her dying in front of all those people...”
I wonder if any of the gang hangers on, or the gang wanna be’s that were there will have a realization of what it is all about and have a change of heart? Probably not.
Definitely not.
Like a previous poster noted, that scene takes place in an alternate universe. As for me, I'm out in the country, hunkered down and armed to the teeth. When invaders from that universe invade my space, I'll be ready. Until then, the activities in that universe can only be viewed with curious detachment. These are interesting times.

Some might. They’re not as different as their monstrous actions or associations indicate and as most of us would like to think. Just, for the shooter(s), it’s not going to likely be in public view, and it’s helped along by doing real time in a penitentiary where they’re forced to think about it. Generally, the hangers on of the shooters would scatter as soon as something had happened. That’s the well-practiced routine. So they wouldn’t have seen her die first hand necessarily.
And from what I’d seen, on Gothamist’s comments I think, the people that were shot were part of a group that had been at the beach just enjoying themselves all day, while the group the bullets came from were about fifty (?) or so who had shown up later in the afternoon, and caused immediate trouble, resulting in this.
