1990 IPCC Predictions Confront the Data
Clive Best climate blog ^ | June 9, 2011 | CLIVE BEST

Posted on 06/11/2011 10:20:19 AM PDT by Brad from Tennessee

The latest global temperature measurements are available for both satellite data [3] and for the Hadley CRU temperature data [2], so I thought it would be interesting to compare these with the predictions made in 1990 by the first IPCC report. There is now sufficient data to test whether the GCM modeling of greenhouse gases used by the IPCC really matches up to reality. . .CO2 levels in the atmosphere have continued to rise over the last 10 years but temperatures have not risen since 2000. This implies that CO2 is not the main driver of global temperatures on these time periods and that other natural mechanisms are at least as important. No evidence of any positive temperature feedback with increasing CO2 levels is found. . .

Anybody got Mitt’s email address?

(assuming he’s capable of reading a graph).

sorry, i don’t know how to post charts.
but, if you look at old chemical Co2 measurements, going back to the 1800’s...

a picture is worth 100,000 words. CO2 was a LOT higher last century. but the libs took control of Mana Loa, and that is the ONLY single source of CO2 measurements used now... no backsup to correlate at ALL. (why???)

please look at the chart on page 5 here.

and page 9 is maybe even better, for showing temperature compared to atmospheric CO2, for the past 140 years.

No prob. If you run Firefox, you can just "View" then "Page Source Ctrl+U" to see the code. Or you can just copy the pic link location then paste it in the html code with triangle brackets around it, i.e. "". where blah = "img src="http://clivebest.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/plotcomp1.png" /"

I think the conclutions are wrong. I’ll take issue with the first one.

1. atmospheric carbon dioxide fluctuates through 19th and 20th century contradicting the icecore reconstructions.

No, no it doesn’t. The ice core is known to be the best measurement before the Mona Loa data. Sampling data before the “Mona Loa” data are known to be wrong and affected by local peat moss decay, wood stoves, etc.

How do you check the accuracy of icecore readings? They say cow farts are a major source of CO2 but I thought they were methane. What’s up with that?

This is sophistry.

THERE IS NO TEMPERATURE DATA from Hadley CRU!

THERE IS NO TEMPERATURE DATA!

THERE IS NO TEMPERATURE DATA!

THERE IS NO TEMPERATURE DATA!
