Some towns have actually prevented Wally World from opening up. For the longest time, they have been trying to get into Davis, CA but the city refuses to allow them to build and open. Davis also has a very vibrant downtown as well with many unique businesses. Also I think Wal Mart has not been able to get into any of the CA Bay Area tons either.

I have family in Jackson OH and they have a Super Wal-Mart. However, if you go into downtown Jackson, not much there though. There is not much choice for shopping there.

> A friend of mine was a regional manager for Wal-Mart and told me that they actually kept pictures of their competition on a bulletin board and crossed them out as they drove them out of business. Then they would increase prices. They work just like drug pushers, and when you are hooked, they close the local store to make you travel further to go to a regional superstore!

The only one not on Kindle is Foreign Enemies And Traitors. That will be in a week or so...

Right On! Good analysis!

We can never allow ourselves to default into the mindless position that taxes are “good and righteous” - what are we, Canadians?

Think Kindle - with text to speech enabled so esquirette can listen on the way to work ........ ?

And besides, I already bought the hard copy for hubby to read.

Yes, you can listen to it on Kindle if you can tolerate the computer generated voice.

That's exactly what California, in particular, is trying to do.

Which is why, when our tax preparer brought it up, we opted to give him a reasonable estimate for our online spending rather than try to evade the tax.

It's just not worth going to jail or paying thousands in fines because of a hundred or two hundred dollar tax bill.

Still, I'm so sick of these taxing jackals, I can barely stand it. These attempts to tax interstate commerce are clearly unconstitutional, imo. But if it's struck down by the SCOTUS someday, I don't suppose we'll ever see refunds, huh?

Adapting a Word doc for kindle is a pretty big headache. Believe it or not, getting rid of the hyphens from the print version is a real pain.

And so am I!

I recently stood in one of South Carolina's Gestapo countytax collection offices and essentially told them to go screw themselves. The reply was next year we are going to go after corporations and personal property tax.

For everything you own of value these Communists think you should pay a significant amount of money to them for being stupid enough to live in this backwards state.

Screw them, I'm leaving.

And if the next state changes the rules, there's always South Dakota!

And how could anybody think there's a R E C O V E R Y ? Barry and his communists traitors are doing everything they can to bring America down so the radicals can keep control. The trials for treason can't start fast enough.

Formatting for Kindle might be a bish, but I’m convinced from power consumption, form/function, and price that it’s the only true electronic heir to the paperback.

Hell, it’s so easy to rack up books at ten bucks a crack I’ve collected more than fifty volumes and havent finished the first one yet!

Yep, that “electric paper” or whatever they call it is really cool, and easy on the eyes in any light and at all font sizes.

But what really blows me away is how it doesn’t need recharging for WEEKS! It’s incredible what an energy miser that little Kindle is.

I was going sarcastic :) so what made you changed your initial correct assumption after reading full quote

The first part "stop being greedy amazon, pay your taxes" seemed to be sarcasm. But, when you said "you support higher taxes after all, being a democrat run company" it made it seem you were saying that they were hypocrites and therefore should pay higher taxes based on what you consider a "democrat run company". Although, how you know that the company is run by democrats escapes me...
