Er, I'm going out on a limb here, but would that be an "overseas cap"? My father was in the old Army Air Corps.
The vulgar anatomical name for the cap was pretty universal among the enlisted lowlifes (of which I was one) during the Korean war days, but my dad went to France in 1918, and his guys called it the “Go to Hell Hat”. Never have found anyone else that remembered the name.
